Within the framework of the Customs Authority directed to overcome obstacles and facilitate the customs procedures of the business community, Mr. / El -Shahat Gutouri - Commissionier of the Customs Authority attended the discussion seminar held by the project of the development of Trade and Export development in Egypt on analyzing the controls for imposing fees and expenses on export and import services with the aim of reaching the development of executive and practical solutions to develop policies, systems and procedures related to the foreign trade system, attracting local and foreign investments, increasing Egyptian exports, and raising their competitiveness in international markets, with  the participation of representatives from the public and private sectors, policy makers, economics and media experts.

This discussion session comes as a result of the study conducted by the Trade  and Export Development Project in Egypt in cooperation with Acumen Consulting Company over the course of eight months, to discuss the results of the extensive study and identify the most important problems that hinder the foreign trade system, both export and import, and to identify the extent of the commitment of the relevant government agencies to what is stipulated in the Trade Facilitation Agreement emanating from the World Trade Organization “WTO-TFA” regarding the value, mechanism and methodology of imposing fees and expenses on export, import and transit operations.
