15 November Part of the participation of a high-level delegation from the Authority in the discussion session that took place on the sidelines of the Intra-African Trade Exhibition held at the New Cairo Exhibition Grounds under the auspices of the African Export-Import Bank in cooperation with the African Union Commission and the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area entitled “Technology supporting the facilitation of trade and customs in the digital era.” at the invitation of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area. During the session, Mr/ Head of the Central Administration for the office affairs of the commissionier of the Customs authority addressed a speech about all the procedural stages related to customs operations, starting from registration on an effective platform until the release of goods and it was noted that most paper documents have been dispensed with, except for the certificate of origin, as part of the trend when Egypt towards digital transformation and the use of technology to reduce paper documents to reduce the customs release time to the minimum in line with the global release time and the issue of Egypt’s exports to African countries was discussed.
