The Prime Minister follows the executive position of the initiative to reduce basic commodity prices and confirms the work to solve any problems that may occur during the application.
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today; to follow up the executive position of the implementation of the initiative to reduce basic commodity prices, in the presence of Dr. Ali Al -Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Mr.El -Sayed Al -Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mr. Ahmed Al -Wakeel, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Engineer/ Mohamed El-Suwaidi, President of the Federation of Industries Egyptian, Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Dr. Mahmoud Mumtaz, Head of Competition Protection and Monopolic Practices, Mr. Mohamed Abu Musa, First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Major General / Issam El Naggar, Chairman of the General Authority for Export and Import Control, and Dr./ Anwar El -Abd, Vice President of the Poultry Producers Union, Dr. Mona Nasser, Assistant Minister of Finance for Follow -up, Project Management and Customs Development, Dr. Essam Shaath, Assistant Minister of Local Development for Local Administration Affairs, and Mr. El -Shahat El -Ghatouri, Commissionier of the Egyptian Customs austhority.
The Prime Minister pointed out that today's meeting comes within the series of periodic meetings through which the executive position of the initiative to reduce basic commodity prices is also followed, pointing to the follow -up that is carried out by officials at their various levels on the ground since the start of the implementation of the initiative, and what is prepared from monitoring reports about the discounts on various targeted goods, in order to achieve the desired goals of implementing this initiative.
The Prime Minister stressed that the aim of holding these meetings is to work to solve any problem that can occur during the implementation of the initiative to reduce basic commodity prices, as well as to overcome any obstacles that may appear; in order to succeed and continue this important initiative, which would contribute to alleviating the burdens on the citizens, pointing out in this regard that a working group will be formed from the various concerned authorities, to present solutions to any problems facing the application of this initiative.
During the meeting, the Minister of Supply indicated that the implementation of the initiative to reduce basic commodity prices contributed to creating a kind of relief in the Egyptian street, reviewing the position of the participation of the major commercial chains in implementing this initiative, and the extent of its commitment to implement the initiative, in order to achieve its goals, pointing out that there are many Other commercial chains that want to join the initiative.
During the meeting, the Minister of Supply reviewed a disclosure of the names of the suppliers of the various food commodities participating in the initiative, and the discounts they announced, and those who committed them to the implementation of this initiative since the start of its work from about 8 days, explaining that we are doing the continuous evaluation of the various companies and suppliers, and there are a few Companies did not abide by the initiative and monitored this, and this matter is dealt with according to the various mechanisms.
The Minister of Supply added: There is continuous coordination between the ministries, governorates and concerned authorities, as well as the central bank, which works to manage the dollar component to provide various commodities.
The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade said: There are campaigns from the supervisory authorities that make sure that this initiative is activated, and periodic reports are also prepared.
The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation indicated that with regard to the poultry sector in general, there is an obligation from many, but on the other side, there are some not committed, and this is dealt with with decisiveness on the part of the competent supervisory bodies.
