This is the last deadline, and it is not again to extend this initiative to permanently.

The final release rates for imported cars for Egyptians abroad are increasing and reaching 27 thousand so far.

We issued 250 thousand import approval … and we are working to speed up the procedures as much as possible.

Dr. Mohamed Moait, Minister of Finance, confirmed that the current April 29, the last date to benefit from the initiative “Facilitating the import of Egyptians abroad”, registering applications electronically and paying the value of the prescribed deposit, in accordance with the provisions of the law, explaining that this is the last deadline to benefit from the initiative and does not extend it again with a final decision.

The minister said that the final release rates for imported cars for Egyptians abroad are increasing, and 27,000 cars received by the beneficiaries received the soft controls established by the law, pointing out that more than 750 million dollars of Egyptians residing abroad have been transferred to the initiative.

The minister added, with the completion of the initiative to facilitate the import of Egyptians working abroad, we issued 250 thousand import approval so far, and we are working to accelerate the procedures as much as possible, especially since these approvals are valid for a period of 5 years and during which any car may be chosen and replaced at any time, indicating Until the value of the deposit, which represents the value of the reduced customs tax prescribed for imported cars for Egyptians abroad within this initiative, is valid throughout the validity period of "import approval", pointing out that the first owner has the right to import the car without being bound by the year of manufacture and others must not exceed 3 years at the time of release Customs.

The minister pointed out that the established facilities for Egyptians residing abroad apply to import from free zones inside Egypt, and are subject to the same procedures prescribed for importing a car from abroad, and the electronic platform provides the ability to choose one of the free zones inside Egypt as a container provided that the cash amount due to the value of the car is transferred to an account The seller from abroad in foreign currency, explaining that the deposits of Egyptians are paid abroad, benefiting from the initiative to easily import cars, in dates set at the exchange rate at the time of maturity, as an obligation on the "public treasury".

Al -Shahat Gutouri, head of the Customs Authority, said that 490,000 Egyptians residing abroad have registered electronically so far to take advantage of this initiative with its soft controls and procedures, pointing out that we are working all the day at the customs ports  for the speedy completion of the release procedures where there is a permanent committee in the ports to work all the day, including the days of holidays and official holidays to accelerate the procedures for customs release, indicating that there is an international hotline No. «15460» to respond immediately to any inquiries from the pioneers of the initiative to accelerate customs release procedures.

A statement by the Ministry of Finance stated that there is a working group in the General Directorate of Citizen Service at the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with specialists in the Customs Authority, to overcome any obstacles and facilitate the procedures for Egyptians abroad to benefit from this initiative, pointing out that the questions of beneficiaries of citizens residing abroad are received through the mobile and WhatsApp number: 01142335222, and they are also dealt with immediately in coordination with the concerned authorities.
