Dr. Mohamed Moait, Minister of Finance, confirmed that the final release of 25 thousand cars for citizens residing abroad within the initiative to facilitate the import of cars, pointing out that we are keen to facilitate the procedures for the benefit of Egyptians abroad from this initiative and the facilities it contains, and enhance direct communication with everyone who wants to import cars according to the established controls ... knowing that more than one family in the same family has the right to join the initiative as long as it meets the conditions.

The minister added, with the completion of the initiative to facilitate the import of Egyptians working abroad, that 250 thousand import approval had been issued for a period of 5 years, during which any car may be chosen and replaced at any time.
The minister explained that the value of the deposit that represents the value of the reduced customs tax prescribed for imported cars for Egyptians abroad within this initiative is valid throughout the validity period of "import approval", pointing out that the first owner has the right to import the car without being bound by the year of manufacture and others must not exceed 3 years at the time of customs release.

The minister pointed out that the established facilities for Egyptians residing abroad apply to import from free zones inside Egypt, and are subject to the same procedures prescribed for importing a car from abroad, and the electronic platform provides the ability to choose one of the free zones inside Egypt as a container provided that the cash amount due to the value of the car is transferred to an account of the seller from abroad in the foreign currency, explaining that the deposits of Egyptians abroad are paid from the initiative to facilitate the import of cars, at the scheduled dates at the exchange rate at the time of their entitlement; As a commitment to the "public treasury".

Al -Shahat Gutouri, head of the Customs Authority, said that 470,000 citizens residing abroad registered their requests in the electronic application to facilitate the import of cars so far .. where they opened electronic accounts on this digital platform .. They wrote their data and raised the documents and they were notified of the fees owed .... indicating Until there is an international hotline No. 15460 to respond immediately to any inquiries from this initiative, as well as the presence of a permanent committee in the ports to work all the day, including the days of vacations and official holidays to accelerate the procedures for customs release.

A statement by the Ministry of Finance stated that there is a working group in the General Department of Citizen Service at the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with specialists in the Customs Authority, to overcome any obstacles and facilitate the procedures for Egyptians abroad to benefit from this initiative, pointing out that the questions of beneficiaries of citizens residing abroad are received through the mobile and WhatsApp number: 01142335222, and they are also dealt with immediately in coordination with the concerned authorities.
