Minister of Finance:

Dealing firmly with some importers who refrain from release their shipments without any legal reason or justification.

Dr. Mohamed Moait, Minister of Finance, stressed that we are working with all the state’s authorities to immediately customized by basic commodities and production supplies that support directly to the industry, to reach the total value of the released goods since the beginning of last March and until now more than 8 billion dollars; In a manner that is consistent with the government's increase in the volume of commodity in the markets, in a way that helps in achieving balance in prices, within the framework of the state’s keenness to work continuously to alleviate the burdens of living for citizens as much as possible, pointing out that there is a permanent coordination between customs officials and representatives of the concerned regions, including the General Authority for Export and Import Control, the National Authority for Food Safety, Agricultural quarantine, Health quarantine, and other examination authorities, to accelerate the procedures for immediate release of goods and goods in various ports, taking into account that the priority of basic and food commodities, medicines, feed and production requirements.

The minister added, that we are also working with all the state’s agencies to confront any import practices that lead to the accumulation of goods in the ports, where it is dealt with decisively with any goods that their owners leave in the ports over the prescribed legal periods, pointing out that it was decided to refer the goods stacked in the ports without any legal reasons even the end of March 2020, to the "Idler" and taking the necessary legal measures in this regard, especially since the dollar resources are available in banks, as this was the reason in the past, but some importers refrained from releasing their shipments without legal justification, and dealing with all these importers are dealt with with these importers About release their shipments without any legal reason or justification.
