20 August The Egyptian Customs Authority receives a high-level delegation from the Austrian Embassy in Cairo. Hundreds of Austrian companies export goods and services to Egypt and participate in various projects throughout the country, as the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Austria reached 375 million euros. Within the framework of the Customs Authority’s keenness to remove all obstacles that hinder the movement of trade in front of the business community and to facilitate the movement of foreign trade, Mr. Ahmed Abu Al-Hassan, Head of the Central Directoritate for the Affairs of the commissionier's office, received a high-ranking delegation from the Austrian Embassy in Cairo, represented by George Crane: Commercial Advisor to the Embassy of Austria, Mr. Heba Refaat, Commercial Director, Mr. Michael Pfeiffer, Assistant Commercial Counselor, discussed the facilities provided by the authority to the business community of exporters in the country of Austria, as well as responding to the delegation’s inquiries regarding the electronic invoice and the requirements for integration with the Window system and knowledge of all customs procedures to work on expediting the customs release of Austrian consignments arriving in the Arab Republic of Egypt. George Crane, commercial advisor to the Austrian Embassy, explained that he had found all the answers to the questions that preoccupy the commercial community in Austria, and that he had also found advice to maximize trade exchange between the two countries. It is worth noting that Austrian exports increased during the first quarter of 2023, reaching 68 million euros - an 18% increase compared to 2022. At the end of the meeting, the delegation expressed its happiness with the visit and that the Customs Authority shows permanent cooperation to provide full support to the business community.
