The Prime Minister of Egypt and Belarus are witnessing the signing ceremony of an agreement between Egypt and Belarus to strengthen the joint trade system.
After the extensive talks session between Egypt and Belarus today, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Mr. Roman Golovshenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, at the government headquarters in the new administrative capital, witnessed a signing ceremony for an agreement between Egypt and Belarus to strengthen the mutual trade promotion system (MTPS).
The agreement was signed by: Mr. Al -Shahat Al -Ghatouri, Head of the Customs Authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Mr. Alexei Boujdanov, Minister of Anti -monopoly and trade rules in the Republic of Belarus.
The signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the continuous cooperation and coordination efforts between the Egyptian Customs Authority and the Government Customs Committee in the Republic of Belarus, and in an effort to protect and develop economic and customs interests for the two countries, and enhance the efficiency of customs control over the goods and mobile vehicles between the two countries.
The agreement included the text on the implementation of a pilot project to exchange information about the movement of goods and vehicles between the two countries for a period of 12 months, since the date of the agreement entered into force.
The agreement also stipulated that strengthening the mutual trade promotion system between the two parties aims to exchange information on shipments for trade operators who benefit from the system, while guiding the rules, standards and recommendations of the United Nations, the World Customs Organization and the National Legislations of the two countries, taking into account the best international practices related to information exchange.
It is worth noting that this agreement comes within the framework of the cooperation and mutual assistance agreement in the customs field that was previously agreed between the two sides on February 19, 2020.
On the sidelines of the signing, Mr. Al -Shahat Al -Ghatouri, head of the Customs Authority, indicated that the agreement will achieve many positive results of the two countries, as the participants in the economic activities subject to the mutual trade promotion system will enjoy a number of advantages such as: priority to perform customs operations (clearance Customs) at customs ports in accordance with the national legislation of the two parties, and to facilitate customs procedures, as much as possible, including allocating separate paths for vehicles, which leads to reducing the time taken by customs operations.
